For photobook collectors, Andrew Roth, doesn’t really need an introduction. Roth, a rare-book and private art dealer, has been publishing artist’s books and books on the history of books under his imprint PPP Editions since 1999. He maintained a gallery on New York’s upper east side for 18 years where he exhibited primarily photography, with a focus on Japanese and American works from the 1970s. In 2001, he published The Book of 101 Books which instigated a meaningful photographic book-collecting market. His most recent titles include Mitch Epstein’s Sunshine Hotel (2019), co-published with Steidl, and Artists Who Make Books (2017), co-published with Phaidon.
