10×10 Shashin Zine Fest, an outgrowth of 10×10 Photobooks’ ongoing commitment to projects that bring together diverse photobook communities took place 18-26 April 2015 at RESOBOX Gallery in Long Island City
Organized in association with the Shashin: Photography from Japan Festival and Symposium at the New York Public Library, the Zine Fest was a dynamic and hands-on reading room that invited New York visitors to experience a multitude of small and independent zine publishers—many with no distribution networks outside of Japan. With its relaxed environment, readers were encouraged to peruse the zines at their leisure. All the zines were available for purchase, with average prices $5-$20, permitting everyone the chance to take home a unique piece of hip and happening art from Japan.
